check you Logs, the update while using an old DB works, but sometimes u can get errors, if so u need to reset your LR (some changes in DB-Structure).

does someone happen to have the web interface completely in German?

For me it is unfortunately in 3 languages and it is very difficult for me to understand anything because I do not speak Russian.

not really, I first introduced the german language there (with a friend), unfortunately there are still some cfgs which I did not find to translate them into german.....i hope she make a better job with the translation in the next time

according to the error message this is not true, try to upload the files via something else on your server, sometimes the old ftp program uploads things not correctly
