Yeah thanks. I'm actually more curious about the paths as I've seen 2 vdf references.

Which would mean placing the vdf in the folder addons/
and the dosprotect folder in addons/metamod/


and another vdf reference stating

 "file"  "addons/dosprotect/bin/dosprotect_mm"
}

which would mean placing both the folder and the vdf file in folder
addons/

Which is why I am confused with the windows version where the files in fact have to reside. Again no direction was made in the OP

Why is there confusion?
You have to use the same path in the file system as stated in your .vdf file.

It doesn't matter as long as the file resides in the place that the vdf points to.
