There not a strict melee weapon, this takes the string table which contains the possible melee weapons for the current map and picks out of that string table... Chainsaws are added somewhere else.

If you check the scripts, the chainsaw is not a melee weapon.. So you can't get level a charge with it

would it be possible to add chainsaws to the script then along with just melee weapons.

Hey I would like you to make a verison of this for all items cuz I would like to spawn 7 random items on every map.

This mod is for melee weapons only, and I will never add other items.

If i get time, I will have a look as I guess a chainsaw is a melee weapon

well I didnt mean it like that I meant a whole another plugin that did that.

actually its a super weapon - just like the grenade launcher and m60.

super weapons only spawn 1ce or 2ce per map (at least on stock campaigns) and have limited ammo.

the chainsaw is the melee super, the grenade launcher is the explosive/shotgun super and the m60 is the rifle/mg super.

the only super missing is a sniper.. maybe valve will come out with one in l4d10.

Maybe a fixed . 50 barrett haha , but tbh only the hunting rifle is actually useful in versus. Other snipers = fail

Been a while since an update, and this isn't anything big, basically I've added an extra cvar for versus mode, if enabled both teams get the same melee weapons when set to random, to make it fair.

Also I have made a .vpk file which enables all melee weapons on all maps. Put it in your addons folder of the server and thats it. clients do NOT need the file, only the server.

All this can be found in the first post of this thread.
