this sounds maybe a little silly but how can i find any infos about non-steam ?

yesterday i wanted to play a little deathrun and tried to find a deathrun server with bunnyhop in server list. i think i joined a non-steam server ( i think because i got the error the i have protocol 48 and cant join the server ) and after this i couldnt join any servers. after i restarted my steam, i could join a server again

Ps. All what google search can show me , are the download links for non-steam bluh bluh )
