So I thought I'd dust the webs off my old E6320 and decide to install CentOS 7 and install HLDS.

When I run the server via my startcs.sh script I get the following:

Auto-restarting the server on crash

Console initialized.
Using breakpad crash handler
Setting breakpad minidump AppID = 10
Forcing breakpad minidump interfaces to load

Warning: failed to init SDL thread priority manager: SDL not found

As you can I'm able to input some commands quickly like status and stats, but once Warning: failed to init SDL thread priority manager: SDL not found shows on the server I can't type anything in the console, I think the server hangs or something, so the only thing I can do is is just ctrl+c the server..

Now I have no idea what the issue is - for the brief period the server is running before getting the error, I open up 1.6 on my windows pc and spam refresh on LAN/Internet and the server doesn't show, from what I understand I forwarded the ports on my CentOS server and portforwarded the port HLDS uses on my gateway and assigning port 27015udp/tcp to my linux pc address

I'm stumped, I've tried doing fresh installs of SteamCMD numerous times and to no avail, I have all the latest packages/dependencies on CentOS so I honestly give up at this point, I appreciate anyone that is able to help me

startcs.sh:
screen ./hlds_run -console -game cstrike +port 27015 +map de_inferno +maxplayers 12 -pingboost 1

Never found the solution - HLDS would just crash after starting the server roughly ~10 seconds. I think the problem was actually the WLAN adapater and nothing else.

Ironically some of the RAM sticks are faulty on the box and I think the motherboard might have some issues, so I ended up getting a VPS with CentOS and all is fine.
