Hello,

I'm having trouble banning players by STEAM ID.
No matter how I ban the ID, using:
amx_addban ID minutes reason
amx_ban playerName minutes reason
rcon addid ID;writeid;
rcon banid ID;writeid;

I always end up with exactly the same banned.cfg file, which looks like this:
banid 0.0 STEAM_0:000370011
banid 0.0 PENDING

ALWAYS the same STEAM ID 300370011, no matter which STEAM ID I ban, it's always this one.

So now I'm stuck with banning players by IP, which is ok, but some players have dynamic IPs and are causing trouble, I have no clue where or how to begin and check...

Try banning a valid SteamID, not a fake one

I've been banning my own STEAM ID while testing, through server console, and it didn't work.

I did however badly form the rcon banid command, and once I formed ti right:
banid 0(perm) #userid kick
It did work...
But I still can't get amx_ban or amx_addban to work, only amx_banip works, because it bans the IP.


amx_allinfo? I tried running that command, nothing happens, so what does it do?

STEAM_0:0:300370011 is not a valid Steam ID. Try using a Steam only server.

I know its not a valid steam ID.

This one appears in there no matter what steam ID I ban. Always that one ID, and PENDING, and nothing more.

STEAM_0:1:50950395 this is the ID I'm trying to ban, and no matter which command I run upon it(except the banid in my second post) that fake or invalid ID appears in banned.cfg, not the ID that I'm actually banning. Sorry for not being clear on that before.

And it's a steam only server...
