Adding new sounds to speech.ini :)

Hi all,

I was wondering on how to add sounds to the speech.ini now some of you will probably give me this.

BUT, the thing is that is only the command. I want to put custom sounds in like 10 sec. clip of a song. Now where should i put the sound file? I tried to search after the location. But i didn't find it :-/ so could anyone tell me where they are located?? Thx

"Music 1" "spk \'misc/music1\'" "cd" "u"
"Music 2" "spk \'misc/music2\'" "cd" "u"
"Music 3" "spk \'misc/music3\'" "cd" "u"

misc = locate what for folder the sound is located in "<gamedir>/sound/misc"
music* = the name of the .WAV sound

Would this work if you uploaded songs to the server so you could be a DJ ?

Would this, you think, cause massive lag playing a whole song?

I have running HLMP2 and works fine, but we like to also have personal admin sounds and maybe a couple songs to play that everyone would here.

- No, It would only be the download to you and your clients which will be very long...

yes they must download custom sounds.

I think he mean HL2MP (Half-Life 2 Multiplayer)

Actually no :-/ i uploaded the songs into cstrike/sounds/misc and i added the line with the excact name.

The menu works but when i press execute song it doesn't work :-/ :'(

EDIT: I didn't have to download the song either? :-S

Yes, you actually have to. But I know what you have to do then... Install this plugin:

And then add in your master_sound_dl_list.cfg:

I haven't tried the above download, but as is, just adding those lines to the speech.ini won't play the sounds.
It shows the "tilte" of the .wav file, but does not play it. I've tried different pathes too and no go still...
like..
"cstrike/sound/misc/moron" ...
/sound/misc/moron
The speech.ini sounds are built in defaults??? not from misc ??? from where???

I'll look at plugin above though..
