I've been trying everything...I have SourceMM 1.2, the stable version of BAT...I set everything up correctly (metaplugins.ini with addons\bat\bin\bat_mm.dll)...and it won't load...I try 'meta refresh', changing the level, and even restarting the server...nothing gets it to load...why?

like the readme says, meta retry 01 ( or whatever number BAT has in meta list)
And you get an actual error on whats wrong.

My first guess is that you have addons\bat\bin\bat_mm.dll
when it should be: addons/bat/bin/bat_mm

Also id use the 1.1 RC4 as its much better, and proberbly has less bugs

EKS and I had a conversation about this, too. There is a point where you need to draw the line for what's REALLY necessary for administration and what becomes a really bloated plug-in. Things should be more modular in my opinion.

Tried...doesn't work...when I do 'meta list' BAT doesn't even show.

no it shows one that failed to load, if BAT dont load you have insalled it wrong.
Remember to check the readme or sourcemm readme.

I have now released 1.1 final/stable, as it was time to get a new stable relaease. The changes from 1.0.x is massive, you can see the full changelog bellow.
I will now focus on 1.2 where my goals are:
1) MySQL login for admins
2) ESC based menus
3) Interface for other plugins to interact with

And proberbly a few other things that may come up.

That would be great. I use BAT for our cssdm server and love it, and would like to use it for our other servers, but most of the regulars would get mad because there would be no ranks.

Thats why you can install another plugin to handle that. Thats kind of the point with BAT. It does not come default with every feature you can imagine, it comes with the basic feature needed to admin your server.
And if your missing something like Stats or a TK system, you install a seperate plugin for that.

StatsmeMinimum will provide Rank-Support in the next release.
Im currently working on that feature.
Its a good idea from BAT not to implement everything inside one big plugin.
I like Mani, but now i think its getting oversized. Who needs a MySQL-Database for an Admin-Plugin ????

On another note, Roger Devil perhaps you should send stats info via the hintmessage instead of menus ?
Look at the SendHintMsg() func in sharefunctions.cpp if you want to copy it over
