Nice!
dod_goodwood I think has better spawn points and wider inner routes so I think bots would navigate well enough.

There's a cool beach map I hope you could waypoint as well but I really need to tweak the axis spawn points first
to make the gameplay more challenging for the allies and smoother bot navigation coz I think there's some pesky ladders there.

Hello

I've read all the replies and I've looked at the source code and can't figure out how to limit the bots to assault.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Disregard last post. Didn't latest version 1.4.510 made the bots much easier

hey guys,

i'm trying to use the bots but need a little help, i guess.

i installed a orangebox server as described and used day of defeat version 1.0.0.40 (end june 2012). after that i did all the required steps and startet the server. that is working fine. and some bots joined the game. but they are just standing there and don't do anything at all.

tested on anzio and avalanche. waypoints should be included in the main package, right?

there are two commands in my server.cfg:
bots_enabled 1
bots_number 8

i started the server with following commands:
C:\srcds\orangebox\srcds.exe -console -game dod +map dod_anzio -maxplayers 32 -autoupdate

you can see the server messages in the attached file.

does anybody know, why the bots wont move? did i any mistakes? do i need some more files?

If you running a server on Windows, you maybe need to update DoD Hooks gamedata

yes, its a windows server. and i already used a newer dodhooks.txt from 29th june. with other version (even newer ones) bots don't appear in the game.

a screenshot with my plugin list is attached.

ok guys, it's working. with the latest version of dod:s bots are joining my server an act just fine. i did not know that there is already a working dodhooks for game version 1.0.0.42.

I have got a weird issue:

Yesterday the bots were displayed like this in HLSW:

0 (8 ) / 24

where 0 is the Number of Human Players, 8 is the Number of Bots and 24 is the Number of Slots, which are not hidden due to Slotreservation. The Bots where displayed like normal players in the Playerfield of HLSW and left if Humans joined.

Since today the display is:

0 / 17

And they are not leaving and not displayed in HLSW anymore. Thats really weird and I do not like this. Is there a fix for this?

Not the plugin's fault.
The latest TF2 update removed bots appearing in the list of players for MvM.
With DoDS being on the TF2 update schedule, they won't appear for DoDS either AND show a reduced player count.

Which is actually fine since bots shouldn't be used to build server numbers....
