Hi there,

As a Music Producer, I feel safe to say that the formats I've attached in this post are supported by HL1.

Your wavs were fine, as far as the Audio Encoder you might've used, be the problem. I personally prefer mp3s when it comes to GameServers as quality loss won't be noticeable at all while in-game (precision isn't needed). Also, mp3s are much smaller in size than wavs, so even with a DataServer for FastDL, the downloads will happen incredibly smoothly. All my servers run mp3s, works like a charm.

The attached mp3s and wavs are re-encoded the "analog" way, and will work regardless of what format you choose.

Also, make sure you've set this setting to match your requirements. I recommend you to test the tracks with remusic_random "0" to ensure their integrity and compatibility, if they work, you can always tweak it back.

Hope this helps you out.

As the guy above mentioned, the problem is from the music files themselves, not the plugin. Try using his reconverted audio files that he uplodaded.
For future reference, I would suggest using this website for converting sound files, with these settings:
  • Bit resolution: 16 Bit
  • Sampling rate: 22050 Hz
  • Audio channels: mono

I always do it like that and never experienced any problems.

The FIles what i added are converted with xilisoft converter Program from mp3 to wav.

But what about the Problem that the Plugin dont play every end round sounds? It comes one times then 2-3 rounds nothing and then again one sound and and and...

Hi there,

I'm happy it worked for you.
As OciXCrom mentioned, the website that he's posted seems fine for conversions and the easiest way of converting audio file's metadata.

If you'd wanna be able to maintain "quality", and also want HL1 to support it, these are conversion settings I recommend and use without any problems.

WAV :
  • Bit resolution: 32-Bit Float PCM
  • Sampling rate: 41000 Hz
  • Audio channels: mono

MP3 :
  • Bit Rate: 320k
  • Sampling rate: Less than 44100 Hz (4-Channel) [CD Quality]
  • Audio channels: mono
Can't go wrong with that.
I've converted the tracks with a significantly complicated Audio Engineering and Production DAW called Ableton. I do not recommend using it as the link OciX posted does the job smooth and easy.
