@dcx2: Thanks I guess that could be a solution, I'll give it a try. I don't think you can strafe (or it's affect was negligible and I didn't notice).

Good job on the plugin Silver. Your one of the few people left in this L4D/2 community that actively pursues creating both fun plugins and good gameplay plugins along with a few others.

Not only does it do wonders for the human charger but it makes the AI Charger that much more tricky as it curves quite a bit.

Just tried it and I must say this is awesome. And it works with +left and +right as-is.

Could you add a 2 to l4d2_charger_steering_allow, and that value would allow only human players to steer?

hello silvers, i found a bug in your plugin, btw, good work so far, but when u charge somebody u can scratch him the hole time wile running. maybe normaly its not a big problem, but on my server there is no scratchdelay, and the running time is longer than normal, so it is a problem for me. i can take 100 % of an survivor if i get him earlie with the carger until i release him or plummer him, and btw, it makes the run slower. maybe u can fix that, or implement a cvar to swith the scratch wile running on and off.

Plugin updated:

1.1 (30-Mar-2012)
- Added cvar "l4d2_charger_steering_modes_off" to control which game modes the plugin works in.
- Added cvar "l4d2_charger_steering_modes_tog" same as above.
- Added cvars to control hints and what humans/bots have access to.
- Added strafing thanks to dcx2.
- Added translations and hint messages.
- Fixed being able to punch while charging.


It requires the translation files.

Before updating.

Just like to know if the new update effects bot chargers at all in a sense that they can't do steers/now strafs anymore.

Hopefully they still can. Otherwise a bit of a disappointment. It adds a great element to coop.

The bots can't strafe, but the mouse steering works, maybe delete the old cvars config and reboot the server.

I have idea about the plugin but it is you to decide implement it.
first of all, current version is working perfect and nice work. However some people do not like using charger with ability of steering. For those people, can you add something like:
R: Stearing charger
LeftClick: Normal Charger (a bit more range or fast charge ability sounds good)
would you like to do this?

Then how do you punch someone if the keys been changed? It's a nice idea but no sorry I won't add. There are cvars already in the game to change ability charge / range / speed etc.
