See, although these forums are a pretty open place, there's no human right to be able to post here under a specified username.

If you go to an open discussion with a specified topic in real life and start insulting people or going off topic there's a good chance that you won't be allowed to participate.

The user in question was writing in a way to further escalate a pretty pointless argument, which is not something we want on a discussion forum about server-side scripting. We're here to be constructive. Threads in the off topic section may contain off topic talk but also no pointless escalation of pointless arguments and no insulting.

If someone gets permanently banned, there usually is a good reason. If there is no good reason (which can happen too), the user can still continue reading the forums. Also, he/she could start a new account, as long as he/she doesn't go on with the behaviour that resulted in his/her ban.

This place isn't moderated by an elected government, but by a few people who decide what to do based on their experience, and sometimes have a weird sense of humour.
If you don't like that, then no, you don't want to be a part of these forums.

If you honestly think that the system is abusive and treats people like crap, then this obviously isn't the place for you to be. It's that simple.
