Hey There!

Number of 1.6 servers has increased lately,at least that's what I'm seeing in different forums.
The question is: How many years after 2014 do you think this game is going to survive?

PS: For me,another 7 years, new games need a lot of power.
This Power = Too Expensive in the market.

There is no good answer to the question. People will just be randomly picking out numbers.

I don't know why people still loving that old-style game, CS:CZ is the same plus a lot of new addons like the hostages. so what's about the newest one ? retards people just want to shoot, whatever which version of CS do they play .

Really? but in my country 1.6 is near dead, people play CSGO and BattleField. Doesn't matter you allow nosteam or not server still empty lol.

Forgot to mention, they still play Counter-Strike but not 1.6, they play MMOFPS (Counter-Strike Online by Nexon) since our ping is very low.

Here it is a random video found in youtube.Just look at CS:GO glock and CS 1.6 glock, weapon is just in the middle of realistic and fake(in CS:GO).CS 1.6 makes me "feel" the weapon while CS:GO looks like empty.
Here is another random video,OMG animation in 1.6 looks cooler than others.
Just imagine a plastic doll that isnt produce to move arms and legs but a kid just moves them, that's how a soldier or terrorist walks in GO,S,CZ.
Maybe they should make 1.6 again, with higher textures and those map, without adding new things like cars in fire.

there's this interesting thing about human psychology
when you see a human, for example, animated in a very crude and simple style, you feel comfortable with it. When you see a human animated to try to look real, you get frightened by it, it looks weird, even tho it's more "realistic". They found out that the closer you get to reality without being 100% real the weirder things look. I'll attach two pictures for comparison.

Or of humans

CS 1.6 will die one day, you can't say when, but the fact that it's almost out of Top 10 games in Steam (based on players) shows that it won't be there forever.
We're getting to the limits with CS 1.6, creating new mods which could reach a bigger userbase are more difficult to make since the players want more.
Many move over to source engine, me too, you just have more possibilities there.
