Hello.

There are plugins to call admin via MSN, AIM, ICQ, e-mail, etc. But nowadays a LOT of people are mostly using skype. So I'd like to ask for a following plugin, which I believe many people will find extremely useful.

I have an idea how this can be done, but my coding skillz are extremely narrow when it comes to stuff like this, but anyway: on a server PC there is a skype installed. In a sourcecode or .ini file (whatever) there's a link that provides to a skype conference chat, where all admins are connected (basically this is so "bot" could connect to skype conference chat).

When player types /admin or /calladmin in chat, MOTD message appears with:
* Players list (with empty boxes near each nickname), like:
Player A [ ]
Player B [ ]
etc

Player just needs to press on ONE box to check it (not able to report 2 players at the same time).

Now he goes for reasons:
Cheating [ ]
Racist / Swearing / Nazy [ ]
etc

He again presses one or more reasons.

After that, in the end of MOTD, there should be a "Report!" button. When he presses it, bot in a skype conference, where all admins are sitting, types something like:

Server #servername#, player #nickname# reported player #nickname# due to #reason#, current time: #date and time#.

And there should be also some kind of delay for people using this plugin, for example each player can use it only once per 5-10 minutes.

Anyone?

UPD: Here's admincall plugin with full sourcecode inside, which works nearly exactly as I suggest, but it's for IRC :-/ But I hope basing on it, some coder can make it for skype.

UPD2: Thanks to user VMAN, who found something that may also be pretty useful if someone will take it.

This would require a webserver to do the majority of the work. And, Skype must have an available protocol for such things like IRC and such. One thign that you would run into is hitting the MOTD character limit too.

Granted, I don't know much about Skype. I also didn't know you could do text chat since it's claim to fame is voice.

Webserver is not a problem for a majority of servers

Why it's better to have a text message from bot in admin chat conference:
Admin might be afk / listening to the music / whatever, so he may not hear what happened. But with text message he will always see it.
Also, this wont interfere (did I spelled that correctly?) in any other voice chat that admin is currenty in.
And 3rd, how the hell bot will report player name, server name etc with voice?

So anyone, please?

If you can show me a programmatic way to connect to skype chat without using the skype client, I'll do this.

As rotab said highlight in IRC would be good.

Yeah, I looked at that. Great work on their part, all of the plugins are just top notch. I'm wondering what it would take to get this working with skype tho, and I'll look into the IRC thing.

I remember once trying to create connection to irc but the 'bot' never joined to my channel. So maybe after you've created irc connection successfully could you share the code?
