Hello guys, i'm running a l4d2 server.I installed all the required things to run 8+ people.Nothing problem with it. But... nobody connects after 8+ only can connect trough IP. Is there a plugin or something that makes users can connect pressing "Play Online", just simply, can they connect the server randomly after 8+ ? =)

I've been experimenting with an 18 player server and have come to the conclusion that you can never get more than 8 'randoms' to join via the game's quick play options.

Unless people join via the console or steam group (when that works...) the server will remain at 8 or less players.

I hope someone can prove me wrong as it would great fun to have a full 18 player server without the need to find 17 friends!

You would need to use console connect.

Oh this is soooooo old now... NO servers are displayed anywhere except in openserverbrowser and steamgroup browser. That´s it. So you can only (to join a specific multislot server directly) use one of these 2 methods (or hlsw/connect IP,PORT). If you join by steam group browser: Depending on what plugin you use you either see x/18 or x/8 players here. L4DToolz shows correct player count in steamgroup browser where you can press "join game" button. Left4downtown 0.4.6 only shows x/8 players letting no one join the server if there are already 8 players in it. You must join by methods written above.

hi there , ive set up a 8 player campaign server, but i only manage to get 4 to connect via lobby or quick join...how u managed to get 8 to connect.? without using connect ip

you want to make 8 players coonect from lobby to your server?
fail, impossible with lobby
