Hello, i just pass'd by a answer that said something short about sv_fastdownload, and have heard about fastdl before. Could anyone tell me about this? And if it is what i think, wich is that the server lets you download needed files faster, i would be happy to know exactly how to do.

Very good improve is bzip2 all files or biggest one. Can zip any files, sounds maps nav materials.

So for example, map.bsp what is not zipped = size 7,55 MB (7 923 320 bytes)
Bzip2, map.bsp.bz2 = size 1,00 MB (1 051 782 bytes)
This way players download files much faster.

To clarify, upload Bzip2 files to your download URL (where player start download)
Upload un-zipped files to your server.

well i have a website at www.t35.com wich can only host zip files and normal compressed files, but decompresses them before they are put up. But i think i can bypass it and... Yes! Now i got a file up. Is this good?

I don't know about tf2 directory structure but on l4d2 you would want to setup directory structure type. for example maps would go in left4dead2/maps/yourmap.bz2. So you would want to direct fast downloads to yoururl.com/maps/yourmap.bz2 or a sound file yoururl.com/sound/music/my.wav. These are just examples but you want to use a file structure system from the root of the game to mirror it. The uncompressed map or file must reside in your server in same structure format.

You need to have a directory structure for every game. Your link does not have that.

You need to make the folder tf2 then in that maps, then you drag the bzipped files into that folder.
