Because they're trying to remove the ability to use hacked/custom skins in the first place and only use injectable hacks.

valve rly should make "addons_eclipse_content" public so that serverowners can decide if they allow .vpk-usage on their servers or not..

I mailed the valve support about that 1 year ago. They said they would look into it, but considering that there
still is no fix, I guess they didn't care.

With all the money they make from TF2 it gets updated constantly and L4D gets random updates to break the game further. I no longer enjoy L4D/2, it's a buggy as hell, the engine sucks.

humm but we are talking about using cheat, not just simple custom skins.

I've banned more than 10 players in a week using cheat in my server. This game is totally forgotten by Valve. No good updates, you can easily use cheat by addon VAC doesn't get.

I'm not sure if I'll stay wih my L4D2 servers next year.

u can shit on AAAAALLL sv_cars..easily bypass in seconds-

working anti cheats are:


enable vote kick.
addons_eclipse_content
build own .vpk and force client to use server-textures for survivors,zombies,items,walls

and here is smoe secret knowledge. there is an "BUG/Feature" in the public l4d2 wallhack and glowhack addon. the file concrete_ext_XX.VMT will force addon cheater to crash back to dektop.

u as server admin can only fight again addon hacks. u can do nothing about trainer hacks like mat_wireframe or host_framerate.99% anti cheat is just possibly if u are ingame and spectate other.
