As of the past year that I've had my tf2ds, no serious issues have been presented to me. Not until today. I came home and started up my pc and went to launch the shortcut. Yet this time when I did, the console popped up for a millisecond and then disappears. So I've probed the internet for answers but I find nothing remotely close to my issue. But a possibility I've come across was that maybe anti virus software was intervening with the servers launch. But I have Windows Defender off and nothing else can even touch srcds. So I come here for help, if any light could be shined down on the matter, I'd be greatly appreciative.

[And yes, the target path and all that works, since I did run the server last night with no problem. I've also reinstalled it, and even installed ina different location. To no avail.]

I would edit the shortcut by removing: -num_edicts x

Does you error log have anything in it?

In addition to what PC Gamer said, if you try to start a mvm_ map, it will immediately close the game unless maxplayers is set to 32.

I did indeed remove num_edicts and still nothing.

When the server closes. It leaving nothing. No debug log, or crash log. I dunno where it would be since I searched all .log files

I just installed a tf2ds in a different location. And tried to launch it. When I try to open srcds.exe, it pops up in task manager for exactly 1 second then closes. And when I do a shortcut with -console it pops the console up for a second then closes.

Try to reinstall your tf2 server with validate, it may solve some unsolvable bugs.

Alright I'll give that a try ina bit. I'll also zip up the files and upload them to drive and give a link so whoever's wants to look through the files can.

^ that is the actual server itself. I did not zip up the entire folder with the steamcmd in it. If that's needed just ask. The problem most likely lies with sourcemod. But I'm no expert coder, I only have experience with .lua
