I'm a little confused about the new colours and the CFG setup. How do we actually go about doing it? I put the smlib file into gamedata and changed some of the tags to things like {O} and {orange} etc but no tags or anything shows in game.

No need to do anything with smlib; this is just an include that is used to compile the plugin. If you have all the relevant .smx files installed then the plugins should work according to your configs.

This is my simple-chatcolors.cfg:

PHP Code:
"admin_colors"
{

"ETs"

{

"flag"               "z"
        "tag"               "[ADMIN] "
        "tagcolor"        "{G}"
        "namecolor"     "{T}"
        "textcolor"       "{G}"

}

"VIPs"

{

"flag"               "a"
        "tag"                "[VIP] "
        "tagcolor"        "{OG}"
        "namecolor"      "{T}"
        "textcolor"        "{N}"

}

Okay I got it to work, but i'm having problems with the Lightgreen colour. It's not working with TF2 and i've tried it in all 3 fields (tag, chat and name color).

Also {BLA} shows as Yellow...
{O} shows as white...

In TF2 {BLA} is the 'item found' color. This means that it is black until an item is found... once an item is found, it turns yellow. This cannot be changed as far as I know. I do not think that {O} is supported in TF2 as the chart indicates... could be wrong. Lightgreen is a team color and cannot be used with other team colors.

EDIT:

These plugins that you guys are testing should be considered beta. I posted them to get additional testers. I think they are pretty solid, but found a few errors and updated the SVN. If you are going to test these, please make sure you have the latest versions, as they could change frequently. You can follow changes here. After testing, each plugin will be posted to new plugins section and have their own thread. (Just FYI)

I found a small bug with the { symbol. If someone has { in their name or writes it in chat, it will display a random letter in their name. Look at the screenshot...

As for the {O} it shows a colour box on the TF2 line and same for {L} but it doesn't work either.

Please move the development discussion of the other version of this plugin to here.

I do not want to confuse people with this discussion, as it is a different version than the one in the OP.

Thanks.

The new version does. The version in this thread does not, and will not be updated any further. I hope to post the new version in the new plugins section this week. If you don't want to wait, and want to help test the new version, check out the Dev thread linked above.

There's not a lot of documentation on how this plugin works.

I'm looking for a way to.. for instance, make it so anyone whose steam ID is in the file adminsteamid.txt will have [ADMIN] before their chat and the color of their chat will be red.. and anyone in the file donatorssteamid.txt will have [VIP] before their chat and their chat will be green...

Does this plugin allow me to do that?

Hey,

I tried installing this and as far as I know it works since typing #Hello will send Hello in (Clan) chat.

However, I set this in my configs:

"admin_colors"
{
"STEAM_0:1:26190795"
{
"flag" "z"
"tag" "TIKULZ"
"tagcolor" "{red}"
"namecolor" "{green}"
"textcolor" "{teamcolor}"
}
"Overrides"
{
"rank" ""
"testcommand" ""
"rtv" ""
"nominate" ""
}
}

This is my Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:26190795

I typed something in chat but nothing happened or changed. Any idea why?
