Did you actually extract it to the right place? Open up the mod directory, ex hl2mp, open up addons, then metamod, then bin. If you don't see a "server.dll" file, or the directory doesnt exist, then you didn't put it in the right place.

Surprising how no one actually asked that :/

my gameinfo.txt looks like this:

Code:
SearchPaths
{
	GameBin				|gameinfo_path|addons/metamod/bin
	Game				|gameinfo_path|.
	Game				cstrike
	Game				hl2
}
but if you dont set the file to Read-Only then it will keep overwriting your changes and it wont work. This is the mistake i made and thats why it wouldnt work. This is on a local SourceDS from the Steam menu running on WinXP Pro

Yeah I ran into that testing it on a listen server. I made a batch file that copied my gameinfo.txt.sourcemm over gameinfo.txt and then started the counter-strike source hl.exe from the command line (you must be logged into steam first).

Hey Guys,

I am new to your forums. I installed mm: s this morning on our cs: s server. I followed the instructions to the letter. I cant get it to work as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. All files are where they are supposed to be. I have tried all the diffrent versions of gameinfo.txt that have been posted. It still doesnt work. Yes, i even made the gameinfo.txt read only.

Again, any suggestions would be appreciated.

The server is a rental through killerpings, its a Windows baded server as well.

Thanks again for your time,

-MN Batman

post your gameinfo.txt and where you have extracted the server.dll file.
