Well everything seems to work fine for me, just cant seem to find a way to let other people join my server. Do I require to use some additional port forward programs?
Using localhost as ip.

Note: Talking about tf2.

It seems there's a problem with connecting to my external ip ( public ip used in servers ) yet it works with the lan ip.
Also getting this message "Couldn't allocate any server IP port" ( probably because I'm using a router )
Any suggestions? Been looking everywhere only to find similiar problems without answers.

Have the following in your startup command line:
-ip <internal/lan ip> -port <port to use> +net_public_adr <external ip>

Then make sure that the port, default 27015, is forwarded from your router to the computer running the server.

You may still need to use the internal IP address when connecting from a computer inside your network (including the computer running the server), but others outside should be able to connect to the external address.

Tf2 Console :
connect 88.222.50.195
WARNING: Port 27005 was unavailable - bound to port 27006 instead
Network: IP 192.168.0.100, mode MP, dedicated No, ports 27016 SV

Server startup bat file :
Network: IP 192.168.0.100, mode MP, dedicated Yes, ports 27015 SV / 27005 CL

"Dedicated No" <- is this suposed to happen?
+
not sure what's going on with the ports anymore.

I'm really new to this, been studying all this sh*t for months, but still can't find simple solutions.

The "dedicated No" text is only referring to your client, not the server. You will see the same text if you start up the TF2 client (on OS X) and connect to any other dedicated server listed in the server browser.

As for the text about ports being unavailable, this is the result of running the server and client on the same machine. So I think you can safely ignore that message in this case. Since you're using the default server port of 27015, you should only need to forward that for TCP and UDP in your router's settings. That should be enough to allow others to connect using the external IP.

K my server seemed to work fine and was joinable by everyone until now.
The ports got messed up again or something.
Here's what I'm getting :

Using map cycle file 'cfg/mapcycle.txt'.
randommap: selecting map 1 out of 1
maxplayers set to 24
WARNING: Port 27015 was unavailable - bound to port 27016 instead
WARNING: Port 27005 was unavailable - bound to port 27006 instead
WARNING: Port 27020 was unavailable - bound to port 27021 instead

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Those 3 warnings didnt happen until I tried to launch the server a few minutes ago. This pretty much came out of nowhere, it was all good until I closed it down and opened it up again. Didn't touch a single a file before this happened.

Nevermind, it fixed it self. Everything's fine now.
