I have installed new plugins as I always would have using "Get Plugin" on the individual posts on this site and this is what my log file is spitting out at me
Quote:
L 12/24/2005 - 01:25:10: [AMXX] Invalid Plugin (plugin "tracer_fire.amxx")
L 12/24/2005 - 01:25:10: [AMXX] Invalid Plugin (plugin "bullet_damage.amxx")
L 12/24/2005 - 01:25:11: [AMXX] Invalid Plugin (plugin "admin_allinone.amxx")
L 12/24/2005 - 01:25:11: [AMXX] Invalid Plugin (plugin "say_motd.amxx")
L 12/24/2005 - 01:25:11: [AMXX] Invalid Plugin (plugin "server_rules.amxx")
L 12/24/2005 - 01:25:11: [AMXX] Invalid Plugin (plugin "amx_help.amxx")
I look in the list of plugins in the amdmodmenu and I see about five plugins grayed out name "unknown" and flagged with "error".

Why is this happening. I have triple checked, and they are installed properly. The only thing I can think of that is causing this is something is not compiling correctly.

Your server is probably running AMXX version 1.01 while the plugins are compiled in 1.60. Either compile the plugins locally on your computer using 1.01 or upgrade you server to 1.60. I recommend upgrading the server.

Then you did something wrong. Did you try compiling in the earlier version of AMXX or did you try upgrading your server?

From a soon-to-be-posted sticky:

Invalid Plugin
This occurs when the plugin is compiled in a newer version of AMXX than that in which you're trying to use it. The usual cause is running a server with an older version of AMXX and then using a plugin you downloaded by clicking on the "Get Plugin" link in a plugin's thread (the "Get Plugin" link always compiles using the latest version of AMXX).

alright, i added amx mod x 1.60 and the cs 1.60 addon to my server, replacing all of the old files. unless i need to do more, everything should be working.

is there more to instalation than file copies?

i also compiled every plugin by hand on the newest compiler.

Personally, I make a backup of the AMXX version I was previously running by merely renaming the folder it's in. I then install the latest version of AMXX as a brand new install, essentially starting over.

Just reinstall AMXX. Use the automatic installer if you need to.
