Unfortunately, the only effect is that it bloats up both client and server installs of the non HL2 games Orange Box games: Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Portal, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, Day of Defeat: Source, Counter-Strike: Source, and Team Fortress 2.
