Hi,

for some time we have repeatedly hacker with changing steamid's. I think they are using non-steam versions of CS:S and they can change steamid's as often as they want. The only possibility to ban them is to ban their IP address by hlsw or console. The problem is that our admins have no rcon password. Is there a plugin for SMAC that checks the id's anf if there is an implausible the player will be kicked? Or can i set sourcebans to ban per IP's too and not only ID's?

Try setting smac_validate_auth "1" in your smac.cfg file

Will only check players on connect and work not to 100% without problems.

We have since 3 Week's a small plugin in beta-test.
It has a viladate function some it's a little bit deeper as the SMAC-Check.

It's a result of some hackers with VAC-Ban and SB-Ban can still connect on our servers.

Until now the plugin kicks all not validated player from the server with intervall check, immunity time after connect and other small futures.

If it's finish i will make it puplic on AM.

Update to the SourceBans 1.5.0 beta plugin. The last 1.4.x one has an issue where it can ban with a garbage steam id.

You mean the server plugin? I think it's allready installen but i try to download and install 1.5.0 beta.

Latest 1.5.0 beta doesn't work. If he gets banned he can rejoin with the same ID. The only way to ban him is to ban the IP in HLSW but then he rejoins with another IP.

If i type 'status' in console i can see his steam ID but if i add it to the Banlist it doesn't work.

If you have full access to your host machine ban the IP address in the firewall.

I could apply for a root access but I do not think it will help because he constantly changes his IP address.

Are the IP addresses in the same range?
I would recommend trying out City Bans by Dr. McKay
Works very well.

the ip's are from all over the world.
