As the topic suggests, my problem is trying to make clients download files from fastdl. It works but L4D2 has a nasty habit of displaying a black screen which to most inexperienced gamers, may think their game crashed or something.

So my question is this:
Can clients download files without seeing this black screen?

Things I've tried:
1. System2, curl (I was stupid and didn't read that it affects only the server)
2. Sendfile natives (it works but it is severely rare-limited, downloads extremely slow)

I'm looking for plugins like system2 and curl but downloads to client side rather than the server itself
