IMO it's not because of V-Sync.
With such hardware you should get a lot more fps until you create listen server and add 30 bots.
Make sure you are not using "software" as your renderer (In-Game options -> video).

and change your rate in console, if you dont want it to change put it in your userconfig.cfg.

Im at work and i could give 3 rates to change besides "rate" itself that may or may not help. But it will, if you want.

maybe i should kick it a bit?

Fuck, im at work and cant remember exacts, i just pulled those off of memory, but try em out. ILl get yea back with what I use and it runs to perfection with a radion 7800 i think. I m drawing blanks here so bare with me. IN time, tongiht. I get off at about midnight, in an hour so home at 1.

I had these rates with a Nvidia GForce 7800 GS

rate 15000
cl_cmdrate 99
cl_updaterate 80
fps_max 1000


I could put the rate up to 2500 and get better fps, but it would crash all the time.

I now have all my setting at stock and it runs at 99.9 24/7 with not issues.

and I mean rate 25000, and that brought me to about 350 fps

i have retried everything and got rid of dust in my pc. its a little better but it randomly drops to like 60 when like the bomb explodes and alot of people are in front of me. i dont know maybe i got to learn to deal with it.
