Reply With Quote #1

Okay so today I noticed that my gamemode_casual.cfg had been delete/reverted - didn't take me long to change the configs that I needed to change but for some reason no matter what I do sv_allow_votes will not set. I set it to 0 in the cfg, along with server.cfg but it still remains on 1. I can't change it in console either, nothing seems to happen (I can change other convars). I'm also having the same issue with sv_region not setting to 5 and it stays at -1. I've done a fair bit of searching and honestly can't find anyone with the same issue, any help would be amazing! Thanks.

Does this happen after updates? Do you have your files to read only?
Can you post your startup line?
Possibly OS

Yes actually I think the gamemode_casual.cfg file (along with maplist and mapcycle) were reverted after an automatic steam update I had on. The only reason I realised was because bots in the server (bot_quota is 10 be default) and when I went to check for the files in ftp I couldn't see them - I ran "fix file permissions" in TCAdmin and then I noticed they'd been reverted.

Here's my startup line:
-game csgo -console -condebug -usercon -maxplayers_override 20 +maxplayers 20 +exec server.cfg -ip 103.231.89.141 -port 27015 -tickrate 102.4 +map cs_assault +game_mode 0 +game_type 0

And the OS is Linux

Thanks for the reply

I don't actually run CS:GO servers, but I've heard that the game also reads gamemode_casual_server.cfg (which doesn't exist by default). This is where you should put setting to make sure they aren't overwritten during updates.

Do you also have +verify? I had this happen so many times, so I just started making a backup of
The cfg, and mapcycle. Not sure if 004 is over kill on the read only, perhaps someone more familiar with linux can answer that one. I've stoped using nix. But pretty much your files have been overwritten, so just make a backup before you update, and if you cant sort the read only thing, make sure you disable auto update.

Awesome, thanks I'll try that out now.
Also I'll try the +verify command line.

Unfortunately the problem with sv_region and sv_allow_votes persists.
