Though when saying "4th of July" you are thus trying to mean Independance Day so you should say Independence Day. Calling Independence Day "4th of July" is removing its meaning into a stupid holiday for shooting fireworks everywhere.

So what? Christmas is something that was invented sometime in the last century, yet almost every good abiding xtian (and some who aren't) still celebrate it. It lost its meaning a LONG time ago, it was originally a pagan tradition to celebrate the winter solstice and then adapted into Yule-time and then finally turned into Christmas.

Well, I hope at least some of you actually did something meaningful to the holiday, like catch "The Revolution" on the History Channel (and Military Channel to).

Very true, I hate how people actually claim Jesus was born on "December 25'th"
