Hi,

my server is VDS Debian 9.

When I use ping x.x.x.x in my Windows cmd to my server - it show 22 ms.
When I do the same in game console (empty server) - it show 100-120 ms.
(in net_graph ~ 60 ms.)

When I did the same on my friend's server,
it show - 22, 53 ms. respectively (net_graph - I didn't check yet).

What could be the reason?

It's newly installed OS, CPU is not overloaded, DDOS protection is disabled.
Tick 33.
Game: L4D 1 & 2.

Thanks for any help / direction of search.

I think that's how things work. Ping uses ICMP protocol, while CS:GO and other Source games (incl. LFD1/2) uses UDP. UDP carries more data compared to ICMP, which adds more latency to it.

However there's a ~80ms ping difference in your side, and I don't know the answer about that.
