It did the same thing today, before putting into the ftp server i made it read only, then after i put it into the ftp server, i right clicked properties and i made it read only, but i think it tried to change it again.

The new update was pointless we can all agree. Unless you wanna use that bhop cmd. My fix was to revert back to previous_build in the steam betas for the game. Just remember if your updated since the feb update to copy and paste the cstrike.exe to your desktop not the cstike_64. Then do all rollback procedures and repaste the cstrike.exe into game directory. Right click on the game(in steam library should say previous_build) under the general tab in selected launch option should have play previous build if not select it. For launch options (just under that) type -cstrike.exe. DO a test launch Look for classic bald man valve intro if you see this your good. If servers played on are updated this will not work. You can always make your own server via steamcmd.exe (just google it). If you do use the steamcmd to make your own server make sure ports are open. 27015. Then make a new folder label it whatever. Paste the steamcmd.exe in that folder and launch. IT WILL UPDATE no worries. just type exit then reopen. Once reopened (it will do a few lines) once you can type put app_update 232330 -beta -previous_build validate. This should cause it to download the previous server files (did for me). Then after, Install Metamod and sourcemod and the dm plugin . The plugins im using are for sourcemod 1.11 mmsource is 1.12 and the dm version is of course 2.1.6. If all done you can play css dm. Dont forget to make that server.cfg. few important lines are server name server rconpassword & server password (if wanted) and somewher in your cvars is mp_ignore_round _win_conditions 1. Set everything else to your liking. Of course we all want to play with friends so set it up to your liking. Just remember to make a .bat file for server launch. This can be done by making a new text document in the folder for your dedicated server. Should see a bin,cstrike etc folder along with a scrds.exe. In that txt document (this is known as command line) put srcds.exe -console -game cstrike -debug +maxplayers (desired) mines 20 -map (whatever map you want) then going to save as. Under save as select all files. Then rename that file (whatever name you choose).bat. Mine is labled server.bat. Just remember no one can join unless they revert their game to previous_build and a cstrike.exe. This isnt the answer most people wanted or asked for but it works. I enjoy playing with bots and a few friends. this is for standalone server only most likely wont work if you run thro a server hoster. Unless you can acess files thro ftp but doubt it since you need steamcmd and not sure if that works with that. SOrry for the long post. Only way i got DM working again. Any questions feel free to ask. Another way is waiting for someone who knows how to update gamedata Or just join another server lol. WHERE YOU AT BAIL. Also, This method should work will all mods being you have the correct files to do so. If you do get your own server and launches. In the box you will most likely see it says Your server needs to be restarted in order to receive latest update. That can be ignored it all will and or should work. Im on mine as we speak no problems. This all is for windows only. But im sure something similar can be done for linux or mac
