If you are unsure and want to compare, then Linux is free to download and Microsoft offers an 180 Day Evaluation Copy of Windows Server 2012

Guys another question:
These "Server" versions of both Linux and Windows, has more security so does it protect like some packet floods? Because I cannot Port Forward so just enabled DMZ on my laptop. Does anyone knows? And what about packets location? Does it goes to the same partition that the server is located? If so it will be fixed by making a new partition for the sever?

I'm not sure, but linux distros have pretty good firewall built in so you can filter stuff with it.

I have used win7 x64 no issues had lots turned off though. Things I didn't need as a server machine.

I'm now using ubuntu server with the lubuntu desktop as it is one of the most light weight guis

Did you enable DMZ or you just forwarded ports on your router?
