Hi,

I noticed you will get banned if you use an alias like this:
alias "speed.toggle" "status"

So, is SMAC banning players based just on a name of an alias, that can be anything?

I know it's used by a speedhack, but anyone using an alias with that name will get banned...

You don't understand. Any player that gets banned for this reason can say he was just using some random script, but that he didn't speedhack, and you can't really refute that.

It's easy to differentiate between valid and invalid bans. The valid bans have a # at the end of them. Here's an example of two valid bans:
Quote:
was banned for command usage violation of command: speed.toggle 79
was banned for command usage violation of command: speed.toggle 15

I see, but why not include that check in SMAC itself, instead of having to check logs? Should be easy to check for cmd argument.

The check is already there. But it also checks for the console command/cvar ect so there must be massive changes to do what you request.
