copy the addons/metamod/metaplugins.ini file from FTP onto your computer. Open it up with your favorite text editor (for example, notepad, or wordpad if you run into problems), and add the following line: addons/sourcemod/bin/sourcemod_mm

I do not get that directory structure in the download. It seems I do have metamods installed correctly because, in-game, I can get "meta versions" to tell me what version it is. But I can't get it to do anything else. When I type "meta list" it says that there are no plugins installed although I have the smx file nearly everywhere I thought it would look for it. I do not have a sourcemod_mm folder, or file. I didn't get it with the download. I should have tho according to these instructions, right?

my ftp structure is as follows
- orangebox/dod/addons/ and in that folder I have
- metamod/bin
- sourcemod/plugins (I created this structure, it was not created by installing metamods automatically. Same with the plugins folder.)
Did I get a bunk download of metamods?

This is what I get from the console:

MetaMod: Source is not the same thing as SourceMod.

You need MetaMod: Source to run SourceMod, and you need SourceMod to run this plugin.

ok......I have followed those instructions numerous times. I have tried binary mode, ascii mode, and auto.
The instructions say:

To install SourceMod remotely, first extract the .zip (Windows) or .tar.gz (Linux) package to your local computer (for example, your Desktop). You will see an addons folder. Using a tool such as FTP, locate your mod folder (i.e. cstrike for Counter-Strike, dod for Day of Defeat, et cetera). Underneath this folder, you should have an addons folder (if not, Metamod:Source is probably not installed). From your local addons folder, upload the entire contents to your remote addons folder. When done, your remote addons folder should have a sourcemod folder

It doesn't. Nor does that folder exist in the zip file provided for download and there is not a tar.gz link on the wiki site I'm thankful for being linked to. Is it supposed to get magically created somehow?

I found the tar.gz on sourceforge. The installer won't connect. My ftp port is 21 (as all ftp ports are). But it tells me it's wrong. Getting frustrated lol

I'm running a dedicated server on my computer and when i use this plugin and type !medic it crashes my server. Other plugins work just fine though.

Are you using SM 1.0.3? If so, use 1.0.4 or 1.1.0.

If you're using this one, just set sm_dodmedic_count to 2.
