Oh, well I do I lease my dedicated server from OVH.com for $40/month (my specific model no longer available sadly) so I have full access to everything.

and it still doesn't autoupdate.... :/

Based on how many people I know who got TF2 autoupdate working, there needs to be a better way to do this.

Autoupdate is a pain in the butt....
I thought autoupdate does not work on windows... or did they change it? I'm guessing it is windows because of the path

Actually you may be correct. Last I checked, -autoupdate is a Linux-only thing.

This plugin works perfectly fine for me and all my servers are windows.

I'm using \ +app_update 232250 validate

This only sends the _restart command thru console which will restart the server regardless but its looking for that info to run the updater.

....hm. Why did it say my path is c:/ if it's a Linux machine? I wonder if it's a virtual machine.....

sv_shutdown_timeout_minutes is a server cvar and needs to go in autoexec.cfg or server.cfg.

Having said that, I still use a Linux server with Nemrun Steamcmd, which I have set up to restart my server when the update hits. I thought about changing that to sm_csay "Server shutting down in 5 minutes"; sv_shutdown, but I'm lazy.

Actually, I just thought of something: why do you have to configure where Tf2's install/update directory is.....using a plugin that is located inside TF2's update directory? Doesn't anyone else think that's weird?

This plugin doesn't actually update the server, it just shuts it down when Steam notifies it that it needs to update so that SteamCMD can update the server.

SteamCMD needs to know where to put the files.

You're configuring it in a steamcmd script, but SteamCMD scripts can be located anywhere. Mine are located in the steamcmd directory and not the TF2 directory.
