Though Im of age to smoke I was curious to ask everyone (who live in the USA), since laws are different out of the country im guessing, if it is illegal to smoke when your 17. There is a type of myth I guess, no one really knows if its true or not (the people that I know), but they say if a cop stops you and your 17, if you have one cigarette on you and nothing else then they cant arrest you. But, if you have more then 1, say 2 or a pack then they can arrest you for tobacco useage underage. I just wanted to get thoughts and opinions about this subject from other people, do you think its true or not true? and what ever else.

Look up the laws and see if they can, legal age in the usa is 18, and its up to the cop regardless of what you have.

I don't think it's illegal to smoke when your under the age of 18. It's just illegal to buy the cigarettes. I'm not positive though.

If you suck so much, that when you walk down the street with a cigarette in your mouth and cops actually stop to give you a ticket, you deserve it.

Besides, tell your friend to quit smoking and give him a beer. He will be much happier.
