Hello guys, I haven't played or modded CS in like 6 years now, but recently started getting back into it again, so I set up a dedicated server and now wondering how to mod it this time around to make it even better than my old one from years ago.

I noticed this video of an aiming-down-sights mod by some spanish guy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-dA0yHBmjw

I don't want to use his mod as-is because I don't like the other changes he did to the game, besides I think he hasn't set it up exactly the way I want, but I'm impressed it's even possible to do this, looks like it works pretty well, with smooth transitions to aiming mode, and working recoil while aimed and stuff. I tried contacting him to ask for his source code, but he doesn't seem to speak english or is just refusing to answer.

I was wondering if you guys know how to code this. Basically I want to make my own instead of using his but I don't know where to even start. I'm pretty rusty too from not touching amx mod x in years. I'll be very thankful for some assistance.

That doesn't look like Counter-Strike to me based on the last time that I opened it.

I believe my friend, that you have posted in the wrong section. The correct would be the "request" section.

something like this you can make throw item_postframe, but it's need to a lot of blocks default weapons and it can use a lot of cpu usage, cause postframe called every frame, so without postframe you can't call secondary weapon attack on some of weapons

isn't that section for requesting other people to build a mod for ya, thats not what I intended, I intend to try to build it myself, I just need some pointers on how to go about doing it

So I downloaded the mod from the video just now to see what I can learn. Played it for a bit, runs fine, stable 100 fps, no lag with 31 bots, so its probably not item_postframe that he used then? Looking at the addons dir, I can see Gmcx_WeaponSight.amxx plugin that seems to be the one responsible for the ADS. There's no .sma for it anywhere in the download or anywhere on google. I can also see that orpheau seems to be used, there's an "addons\amxmodx\configs\orpheu\" dir with a lot of stuff inside it.. I don't know much about orpheau, it was still a recent new thing when I last wrote amxx plugins years ago... Guess I should start there

Does not mean exactly that just because his counter-strike is not with lag, that he is not using Item_postframe.

Yes, looks like he's distributing his mod with a pirated CS, not what Im aiming for though, Im trying to mod my legit steam server.

BTW, took a look in his models dir and that gave me an idea on what he might be doing. I see the weapon models have all been added two adition animations for moving the weapon to aiming position and moving it back, and theres also new aimed models for each gun. So I bet what he's doing is somehow blocking the secondary fires of the vanilla guns (putting silencer, switching to burst, etc.) then hooking the secondary fire key and executing the new aiming anim, and then switching the weapon model to the aimed model. I bet that that's what he's doing, now I only need to see if I can recreate this.

He is doing that from CS client not from AMXX plugins, imposibile to do that with Steam Client.
