Hi all
I wanted to give a view from our perspective here:
Servers and communities are
extremely subjective with advertisements. No community is the same and
all will perform differently depending on geos of the players, and the game. Geos will dictate fill from advertising campaigns. A lot of communities are a mix of good and bad advertising geos.
There isn't such a thing as the "holy grail" of MOTD advertisements. Campaigns start and stop all the time. You will therefore, find that no matter your provider
everyone will have different experiences. We know we've been doing it since July 2013.
http://motdgd.com/rates.php - you can see video demand and availability by country on our rates page here. AU was mentioned, as you can see there isn't much availability here at the moment. We are working our "socks off" to improve availability across all major countries. For some regions like Russia this is an extremely difficult task.
As you can see below how subjective it is:

If you check out our steam group all the latest news is there:

Gmod this month has had some issues, which affected a few people, and we've implemented a new ad server - which is now looking great in terms of performance over the old one. Technical problems sometimes happen, but we deal with them and carry on - we're human like you.
What you end up with is a mix of views from different people chasing a "perfect" CPM and fill rate (all the time) when in reality it doesn't exist. I suggest someone is doing a bit of subtle advertising here, members are free to go where they please, and make their own decisions.
As for volumes:
You can mute a lot of our ads before players go into the game, there is a mute button on a lot of our ads. Where there isn't a mute button the vast majority are at a reasonable volume. If a network offered them "300%" quieter they wouldn't be in business, or operate a very sketchy business model, since advertisers are very fussy about their volumes, and mathematically that would mean they are muted globally without user intervention - a very bad idea, when advertisers look to pay out. Please be wary of exaggeration...whereas we're pretty honest and blunt about what's happening.
Finally:
We aren't going anywhere, we are improving all the time, everyone has premium membership to look forward to next month and 5x$100 prize draws.
Thanks for sticking by us, some of our members earn $10-4,000 dollars a month by the way it's all down to the
specific community.
