there was an update yesterday for the HLDS. I am not good with DOS at all and was wondering if anyone knew of a website where I can manually download and install the update.

Also another q, when i type in where my hlds is in dos, it's progra~1\steam\steama~1\ and my email is [email protected], but dylanh~1 didn't work... anyone know what to do?

My install is at K:\S.

So I open a dos box.

Type "K:", hit enter.
Type "cd s", hit enter.
Type "hldsu", hit tab to autofill rest of name, then enter.

You should be able to do it from there.

my HLDS.bat:

it updates HLDS and restarts it if it crashes
to shut down HLDS: first close the batch window and then type quit in the HLDS window

tip to resolve steam server update problems take liblist.gam after update, rename it to xliblist.gam start server, shut it down, rename xliblist.gam to original, and fire it up. case solved but i agree steam is ghey

HLDS updates are the easiest thing to deal with, the updater actually works..
here's my batch file

I also have one that loops through those, so if it doesnt work, I can just let it run for a few hours
