I updated my server and now it says: "Failed to open dedicated_srv.so (libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)"

The SO is ubunu 16.04.
I reinstalled libstdc++.so.6 but now I get this:"Illegal instruction (core dumped)"

It already hapened a while ago. and I solved it by using: "-beta previous" in the app_update command in steamcmd.

It is not working now, even removing the "-beta previous".

Thank You

You'll want to voice your concerns at Valve or your server provider; sounds like the libraries can't correctly detect your CPU's particular features, if your CPU supports them at all. Make sure you installed the appropriate libraries using your package manager as well (in case you didn't).

Should've sorted this out last month; using the previous build was only a temporary measure until the next release.

Edit: Not sure if the Steam Runtime can get TF2 running on a system without the AVX instructions; my server's running just fine on it though there's no flags indicating AVX support in /proc/cpuinfo. Can anyone confirm / deny?

I think it's actually Valve that didn't correctly compile the server binary. They had a very similar issue with the steam for linux client ( https://github.com/ValveSoftware/ste...ux/issues/4077 ) which they fixed by disabling AVX altogether.

I've mentioned this problem on the hlds_linux mailing list last month, but I think it got overlooked by Valve. I've emailed John Schoenick at Valve asking for a fix.

So.. I can only sit here and hope for valve to fix this in a future update?

Sticking your head in the sand and ignoring the problem is not solving it.

Looks like an optional update was pushed out today (build 3914266):

Quote:
  • Fixed crash when running on systems without AVX support
Thanks for the direct mails, Kanarie.
