How to check the client modify the particle file "boomer_fx.pcf" to achieve the effect of removing vomiting

The client can modify "boomer_fx.pcf" to remove the boomer vomiting effect. How the server detects.

The thing is, in other games like cs:s, cs:go, tf2... those can use sv_pure system.

But in L4D(2) it seems broken. At least I can figure it out, and clients use addons aka custom vpk files

You can try sv_consistency 1 for L4D2

sv_pure:

If set to 1, the server will force all client files except the whitelisted ones (in pure_server_whitelist.txt) to match the server's files.

If set to 2, the server will force all client files to come from Steam (and it will not load pure_server_whitelist.txt).

Utilizing Left 4 DHooks Direct's Addons Disabler function is your best bet unless you don't wanna use that.
