Beware of something. 512mb RAM is more than enough. A graphics cards performance is not judged from how much memory the card has, but the calculation power of the GPU.

And again, HD5770 has the perfect balance. You can get it in a 1GB version if you really want, but trust me, you wont be using more than 200 - 300MB when you are using the card to its fullest.

My old Radeon HD4670 512MB on a mid-end Core 2 Duo can handle Source at consistent 100FPS, you don't need to much to play CSS or TF2

Yeah I remember 4670 it's without 6-pin gpu and is great.

Edit: Lol, seriously disabling AA does make difference. 100+ in TF2 and in CS:S standard maps it's 80+ without dropping but in other maps it's 100+.
Had AA on 8x now none.
