That's the stupidest thing I've heard in this thread. There is more to a player's skill than just the team that they play for on club level. Also, the familiarity with the other players on the national team plays a big part in how the team performs. Don't go blaming the club team entirely.

No simple answer for that. I could argue that some important players have left Brazil less than 2 years ago (Oscar, Willian, Neymar, Paulinho). Still Neymar plays in the national team better than he does on Barcelona. But that's not the point, I guess this discussion came from the wrong premise that since defence is a concern in Brazilian local tournament (?) it would be also a concern on the national team. That's a large generalisation, just too far from the truth IMO.

Moreover, the problem is the defensive system, while there are awesome players on defence like David Luiz and Thiago Silva.
