Reply With Quote #1

Hi everyone Im hosting a ZR mode server in CSGO
when players number is over 30, players started to feel lag, having choke raising.
I have 100/100Mbbps Network, AMD P2 X6 CPU, 12GB RAM DDR3
Slot number is 40
Could anyone give me some good idea about the server's network cvar?
such as sv_maxrate , tickrate etc.

Consider that we are using E3-1270v3 as our CPU. And we are just enough to be able to handle 40 slots
Chances for a AMD cpu to do such task are low.

I dont think so, really.
Source Engine doesn't need that much resource to be run
i do believe that is the limitation of the engine.
I got two Team Fortress 2 server, a Freak Fortress and Slender Fortress, in the same time and they are full.
However those TF2 server are still running smoothly while the CSGO zombies are starting to be laggy.
That's way i dont think it's about the performance of CPU.
Garry's Mod is already a good example.
Even players are going over 300 ping, the machine still runs normally.
It's a problem from the srcds instead of the machine's spec

What a great machine
Anyway, i had spend a hour trying to figure out some network setting on Google.
I was thinking if CSS's setting works on CSGO.
But it seems cannot be regarded as the same.
The new Source Engine was put too much garbage inside.
I have to say that it does increase the quality of graphic, however, it makes the engine's burden heavier.
The old one used in CSS, DODS etc is very clean. Less unnecessary effect, better in-game performance. We all know source engines sucks at processing physics. Garry's Mod had proved that. Ping always flying sky high when there is too much prop in the map. Adding those unnecessary visual effect is making it worse.
Especially Zombie Mode needs prop in order to provide humans ways to defend themselves.
That's why i think CSS setting might not be used in CSGO without editing
Damn i hate this engine so much

But I have the same problem when more 30 peoples are playing on my server ^^

That's why, good settings with CVAR are importante !

Actually, I have this :

sm_cvar sv_minrate 13000
sm_cvar sv_maxrate 80000
sm_cvar fps_max 0
sm_cvar sv_minupdaterate 33
sm_cvar sv_maxupdaterate 67
sm_cvar sv_mincmdrate 33
sm_cvar sv_maxcmdrate 64

With tickrate 64.

I will put here a screen like you from "+graph"...

Try this: sv_maxrate 0

Should eliminate choke
I used this on my servers.
