Hey folks - I'm looking for a bit of help for a friend who is kind enough to port the Mariokart map to TF2 for the TF2 Karts thingy. At this time he is trying to set a players condition to that of a Natasha'd player when they are in a trigger. We've tried the one hammer provides "trigger_playermovement" but it doesn't produce the results he is needing.

Is this even possible to do? If so, would anyone be willing to maybe lend a helping hand? He is needing the players to be slowed when they run off course to force them to stay on track. Thanks in advance!

Use tf2 attributes and set move speed penalty on their client, but it onkly works for movetype walk.
For karts you have to change the taunt move forward speed...

Not sure what that means. He's hoping to use triggers to slow them down if that helps?

The only cond that can stop carts is the one that cages them...

The only cond that can stop carts is the one that stops movement (and the one that spawns a cage while adding the condition that stops movement).

Or... you can set the convar cart_normal speed / boost speed to 0.

But that'll also make carts float without falling.

But can't do dat in a map ;p

My racing plugin might have a entity tool for this though, some day.

Your alternative for now is to make offroad literally really bumpy in such a way that it can hamper movement without becoming a really good boost ramp.

Thanks everyone, I think he's found a hacky way of doing this with trigger_playermovement. Can't wait for the map to release.

I too am looking at setting the stop cart method and thought of the cages for a new map. Highly interested in how this pans out.
