Hi

I'm having some troubles setting up cs:s servers on my dedicated box.
I can not connect to my server or view it on the server list.
Currently I have all network / system firewalls disabled.

I believe the service error is normal but for some reason I can not connect to the server. here's a screenshot of the console.



The firewalls are disabled and it appears to be running so I'm not sure what could be stopping me from connecting :\

Servers Specs
OS: Windows Server 2008
Ram: 48GB
Processor: Dual Intel Xeon X5650's @ 2.66ghz, 12 cores 24 threads in total.
Start Up Command: folders\srcds.exe -console -game cstrike +ip 111.67.27.92 -port 27015 +maxplayers 24 +map cs_office


I assume this is a normal problem but Googled around and found it posted a few times, no solutions.

Tried running servers on an second identical box in the same data centre and had no problems.. Got the same steam errors but the server was online / contactable.

Must be networking issues

Have you made sure that its port forwarded both upd and tcp ?
Also check your firewall exceptions.

try that after if it all fails
server.cfg, add "ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" with your INTERNAL ip address, then "hostport 27015"

what if you remove all +ip +port, -ip -port from launch parameter and from config files
hostip
hostport.

The servers hosted in a datacentre all firewalls should be disabled.. I'll have to double check with support later.

I set up the IIS service and found the web service worked so I disabled it and tried running the server on port 80 and could connect to it.. It seems the ports must be blocked I'll contact the data centre and get them to unblock them.

However I've now noticed a new problem.. CPU usage is spiking without any roles / programs installed / running basically my cpu usage jumps from 0 (where it should be) to any number <90% then jumps back down. Example: (see the graphs)



I have a few of the same boxes and the others would sit on 0-3% usage when running 10+ game servers.. This box has nothing.. I'm thinking there may be a fault with one of the cpu's.. One of them might be dying?
