[TF2] arena team select

Does there exist a plugin of some sort that allows team selection in arena (instead of the stock 'everyone is randomly assigned')? I'm looking into setting up a small arena server and I'd like to have the option for people to choose their team like every other game mode so friends can play together. Anyone know if this is possible?

Turning on tournament mode fixes this afaik

It's been a while since I played competitively, but doesn't tournament mode require some kind of manual manipulation to run the game? I think I remember there being a 'warm-up period' and someone needing to decide when to start the actual game. I'd like the server to be able to run smoothly and not confuse people when I'm not around.

Bumping this as I have this request as well. Enabling tournament mode allows you to choose teams, but also requires each team to "ready up" for the game to begin. There are several arena pubs that allow you to choose teams while still running in a pub mode and they both have mp_tournament 0 in their cvars.

They must be using some sort of plugin, but it doesn't appear to be publicly available. I'd love to see one though as well.
