Uh, you talk about "patching" stuff and it not working on windows.

I might be dumb, but would it perhaps not be much easier to:

a) Skip this patch
b) Redirect the host crash.steampowered.com in your /etc/hosts file (which very much exists on windows) to another IP (just setup virtual host if you want to keep it separate in apache)
c) Enjoy not having to install any mods / have it working on both linux/windows servers?

Also, just write a wrapper-script for the strip-command in the GNU-toolchain to not strip any objects residing within the SRCDS directory structure -- problem solved

  • Not everyone has control over the host server.
  • Not everyone who does have control over the host server wants to be
    • redirecting crash dumps for all servers running on that machine.
    • editing system files.
  • I wanted something that was just a simple plugin install, which I succeeded at. Drag and Drop.
  • Breakpad dumps are useless on Windows, see previous posts.
  • You still need a plugin to set the Steam ID.

Note: My server will already accept dumps sent like this, fyi, that's why I changed the submit path to exactly match Valve's.

I have no idea what you are on about here, and don't think you do either.

Regards,
Asher.

Updated our servers, you might see some dumps if some of my admins feel lucky and want to try starting up servers which requires attachables..
