So since 1.6 and CZ is an old then "DANG" people these days love old cars. Its a CLASSIC!!
Second of all Source sucks ass! Its netcode is terrible. 1 Reason why CPL doesnt want to have championships for it.
Third. The SDK for Source sucks too. Untill valve decided to update their SDK to something that we can use, im not planning to make no superhero for source.

This is the information I see (from gamers-search.de):
Counter-Strike - 40542 players
Condition Zero - 5152 players
Counter-Strike Source - 36270 players
The steam status pages probably include bots, I don't know...
I often check these stats and remember the days when HL1 Counter-Strike averaged around 100k players. The 1.6 and CZ have steadily declined while the CS:S increases. I won't argue which is a 'better' game, but I would argue that the future is in the HL2 engine.
Plus, for companies renting out gameservers (which I am not), you have to focus where the $ is. Most guys still playing 1.6 didn't ante up the cash for CS:Source, so they won't be buying any game servers either. I know you guys code for the love, but if you want the chance to make any $ from the work, you have to go where the money is.
I'm not here to dis anyone. I just want to encourage you guys to put your efforts where the opportunity for reward is greatest.
