When attempting to start the dedicated server for CS2 I keep getting these:

I followed the Valve article on this but am not quite sure wtf is going on considering when initially downloading steamcmd's files via terminal it should download the necessary files but hasn't.

Note: I also did the prerequisites before downloading the steamcmd files, etc. Any help to resolve this would be appreciated.

I've made a script for this as I had the same issue:

Create symlink (shortcut in Windows language), it should look something like this:

ln -s ~/Steam/steamcmd/linux64/steamclient.so /root/.steam/sdk64/
ln -s ~/Steam/steamcmd/linux32/steamclient.so /root/.steam/sdk32/

Or just copy your steam client like this:
cp ~/Steam/steamcmd/linux64/steamclient.so /root/.steam/sdk64/

I've done this. Now steamclient.so exists in /home/steam/steamcmd/linux64, etc, but still the same issue.

I think folder name its .steam not steam you need the . before steam.

I don't know where your steamclient.so is located now, but it should be linked or copied to /root/.steam/sdk64/

EDIT: Maybe there is something going on with your permissions. Try to sudo chmod -R 777 /your whole .steam directory/
