IP Addresses are public by nature. Don't fear giving someone your IP... You need to remember that most routers block all ports by default.
but why risk you players of a dumfonded hacker that only seeks a thrill of dosing some one's ip, i keep my port forwarded for testing, plus, isnt the port 27005 open, because that's the port you connect to?
